Knit-a-Gogo: Classes

Knit-a-Gogo offers regular group classes at several locations in the Washington, DC metro area, including Arlington and Alexandria. Unless otherwise indicated, all classes are taught by Danielle (me!). Although not listed below, I teach all knitting classes offered by Arlington Adult Education. I am also available for group or private classes upon request. If you don't see something below that suits you, just contact me to set something up!

Please note that the supplies needed for each class are listed on the supplies section of the site. You are responsible for bringing supplies to the first class.

Knitting Basics - Intro to Knitting - Class is FULL

Learn to cast on stitches, knit and purl in this basic knitting class. If you haven't knitted in years and just need a refresher, this is also the course for you. Choose from the baby blanket project or a ribbed scarf project.

Prerequisites: None!

Cost: $55 for two two-hour classes

Alexandria Dates and Location:

Sundays, August 10 and 17, 1-3 p.m.

Location: St. Elmo's Coffee Pub - Located at 2300 Mount Vernon Avenue in the heart of Del Ray. Ample street parking and a free lot behind the shop.

Toe up Socks!

Get ready for winter with these house socks. Made from larger gauge needles and yarn, these socks are a great way to ease into the world of hand knitted socks. This class will teach short rows, increasing, decreasing and the figure eight cast on.
Prerequisites: must be able to knit and purl.
Cost: $70 for three two-hour classes.
Dates: Mondays August 11, 18, 25. 7-9 p.m.
Location: Barnes & Noble's Cafe - Clarendon. Located off of the Clarendon metro station and in the shopping plaza across from Whole Foods.

Cashmere Beanie - with Karida

Learn to work in the round, increase and decrease in this quick three hour class. Using thick cashmere blend yarn and larger needles, you will be able to complete this hat in only a few hours.

Prerequisites: must be able to knit and purl.

Cost: $54 for one three-hour class.

Dates: August 25th, 6-9 p.m.

Location: Location: ACKC Cocoa Gallery - 1529 14th Street in Logan Circle Neighborhood.

Private individual and group classes

Don't see a class that works for you? We offer private lessons for $50 per hour for up to three people and $75 for a two hour session. You can also create your own class of 3-10 students with friends, family or colleagues. Contact Danielle to schedule your private class today!

Class Registration Policy
Payment is due upon time of registration. Class fee is not refundable unless cancellation is made within 72 hours of class start time. Classes with fewer than three students may be canceled or rescheduled for insufficient registration.
